Canvas fails faster than seats because it works harder: folded, snapped, zipped and wind-loaded every single week of the season. At Lakebridge Boat Upholstery canvas is a repair trade first. Binding, snaps, zippers and chafe patches get fixed on their own when the fabric still has life, and replaced properly when it does not. Nobody should buy a $2,000 cover because of a $40 zipper.
New covers are patterned on your boat, at the dock, with the fabric pulled and fitted the way it will actually sit. Frame contact points get reinforcement layers, snap lines get doubled binding, and vents go in by default because on this lake an unvented cover quietly ruins the seats underneath it.
Bimini work is the steady favorite: the sun that makes a top necessary is the same sun that eats it, and most frames outlive two or three skins. If your frame is straight, a re-cover saves real money over replacement, and we will tell you plainly which case yours is.

Canvas questions
My bimini canvas is shot but the frame is fine. Do I need a whole new top?
No. A re-cover on your existing frame runs $600 to $1,400 against considerably more for a full replacement top. We check the frame for straightness first, because new canvas will not hide a bent bow.
Why did my cover’s zippers and snaps fail before the fabric?
Hardware works every week; fabric mostly just sits there. Snaps, zippers and binding are wear parts and all replaceable on their own, which is a repair most owners never get offered. If the fabric itself still sheds water, fix the hardware and keep the cover.
What fabric do you recommend for a mooring cover here?
Solution-dyed acrylic for boats under trees, since it sheds sap and cleans well. Coated polyester where maximum waterproofing matters more than breathability. We quote both and explain the tradeoff for how your boat is stored.
Can you add vents to my existing cover?
Yes, and on this lake you probably should. Trapped condensation under an unvented cover is a top cause of mildewed seats and sour foam. Vents are a small job that protects a big investment.
