Boat upholstery in Penhook

Lakebridge Boat Upholstery rebuilds seats, pontoon furniture and canvas for Penhook boats at the dock or the driveway, with the pricing published before we ever visit.

Penhook is about as far from a boat upholstery shop as you can get and still be on Smith Mountain Lake, which is exactly why we built dock service around it. Boats at Lumpkins, Lakeside and Palmer’s get the same pickup, rebuild and reinstall as the Hales Ford crowd, with the same published pricing and no trip charge inside our listed areas.

The lower Blackwater arms hold a lot of long-owned boats, ten and fifteen year pontoons and runabouts whose owners want them kept right rather than replaced. That is our favorite kind of work. Original foam that still tests firm stays, worn vinyl goes, and the boat comes back looking like the year it was bought for a fraction of a new furniture set.

Calm water, spiders, and stained canvas

Penhook slips sit in some of the clearest, calmest water on the lake, and calm water means wildlife. Spiders and mud daubers colonize stored canvas here more than anywhere else we work, and their staining is acidic enough to mark vinyl permanently. A zipped cover with the vents left open is the fix, and we build covers that way by default.

Penhook questions

Is there really no trip charge to Penhook?

Inside our listed service areas, no. Penhook is one of them. The price on the table is the price, and we batch far-shore visits so the driving is our problem, not yours.

My pontoon is a 2011 and the furniture is original. Rebuild or replace?

If the frames and bases are sound, rebuilding runs $2,400 to $6,500 for a set and keeps the original fit. Replacement furniture from a catalog often costs more and fits worse. We tell you honestly if your bases are too far gone to be worth covering.

Can you fix a chewed or clawed seat from an animal getting under the cover?

Yes, that is common on this arm of the lake. A single chewed cushion usually prices like a standard seat re-cover, $225 to $550, plus foam if they dug into it.

Do you service boats at The Dock at SML?

Yes, and both public launches too. If you can get the boat to a dock or a driveway anywhere around Penhook, we can work on it.
